Money App and Service Reviews
This hub brings together our reviews of money apps and financial services used by UK households. Each review explains what a product does, what it costs, who it may suit, and where it has limits. We aim to keep the language plain and avoid jargon. Where we must use a term such as FSCS (the Financial Services Compensation Scheme), we explain it the first time it appears.
How we review
Every review follows the same checklist so you can compare products on equal terms:
- Purpose: what the product is for, such as budgeting, savings goals, or credit card payoff planning.
- Costs: monthly fees, charges for extra features, and any fees for withdrawals or late payments, shown in pounds sterling (GBP).
- Access and sign-up: what you need to open an account, such as a UK bank account or identity checks.
- Protection: whether deposits are covered by the FSCS, and whether the provider is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You can check the FCA register at register.fca.org.uk.
- Data and credit checks: whether the service uses your data for credit reference checks with agencies such as Experian, Equifax or TransUnion, and how you can control that.
- Limits: what the product does not do, and who it may not suit.
We do not publish star ratings or ranked lists on this hub. Reviews describe features and trade-offs rather than declaring a single best option.
